From Camel Valley Vineyard - May 2006

Camel Valley Vineyards 2005 Bacchus came out the top English Vineyard in the prestigious Decanter wine awards announced yesterday. They also simultaneously picked up 4 awards (including a Silver medal for their 2003 sparkling Pinot Noir ‘Cornwall’ Brut) in the world’s largest wine competition: the International Wine Challenge (IWC).

Said director Sam Lindo: ‘After last years IWC Gold it’s amazing to come out on top in the Decanter awards and it’s thanks to the everybody who works at Camel Valley Vineyard. We have proved that we can compete consistently on the international stage.’

Everybody can join in the celebrations during English Wine Week (27 May-3 June) when most vineyards in the South West will be putting on special events. Camel Valley, where owner Bob Lindo founded English Wine Week, are putting on ‘The Big Cheese’ on I June: tour, tasting, artisan bread (Blue Mango), and luxury cheese (Steve Gunn). There will also be a chance to view pictures from, and meet, celebrated local artist David Penhale. On the 30 May Bob and Sam Lindo will be doing a tasting at Stein’s Deli in Padstow at noon.
